It is a season of medals for the Nigerian team at the ongoing 11th African Games! Yesterday, we reported the new world record set by Yakubu Adesokan. Click here to read about it. Behold, we have another champion to celebrate! Esther Onyeama, a paralympion in the 65 kg weight class, has set another new world record at the ongoing 11th African Games holding in Brazzaville. She lifted 133 kg to erase the 126 kg record that she set previously. Like her counterpart, Yakubu Adesokan, she won a gold medal at the London Paralympic Games in 2012. The National Para-Powerlifting head coach, Feyisetan Are, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the performance was commendable.
