EADS to Rename to Airbus Group

European Aeronautic Defence and Space, EADS, a global pan-European aerospace and defense corporation, has announced that it will rename itself Airbus Group. The group includes Airbus which manufactures commercial aircraft, and Airbus Military which manufactures tanker, transport and mission aircraft; Eurocopter, the world’s largest helicopter supplier; and Astrium, which provides systems for aerial, land, naval and civilian security applications including Ariane, Galileo and Cassidian. The company is the biggest defence and military contractor worldwide. The company said the name change will be effected next year, and that it will reshuffle its space and military units into one division.
