As preparations for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup continues, coach Nduka Ugbade has demanded that fresh MRI tests be conducted in order to take precaution and avoid little details that could hinder Nigeria’s participation at the tournament billed to start October 26, and end November 17, 2019 in Brazil.
Majority of the players expected to represent Nigeria in Brazil participated at the CAF U-17 Nations Cup hosted in Tanzania earlier this year, but Ugbade noted that the five-month period since the conclusion of the African qualifiers, must have seen some of the boys undergo massive growth and development.
It’s not always so because in two months, you can grow and not develop but there is no way you develop without growing.
Nduka Ugbade
The five-time world champions are expected to play against the Hungarian national U-17 side on October 26 at the Estadio Olimpico, Goiania, in what will be Nigeria’s first game at the tournament.
