African football governing body, CAF has released a list of 18 referees for the football showpiece in South Africa. The list does not include any Nigerian. Peter Edibe is the only Nigerian in the list of 21 assistant referees for the games.
Many believed Solomon Wokoma would make the cut but this latest development comes as shock to Nigerian football.
Emmanuel Imiere was the last Nigerian referee to officiate at AFCON when he took charge of the Group C game between Zambia and Guinea at Alexandria in the 2006 edition held in Egypt.
