Our selection of business events for the month of September covers some of the year’s most anticipated conferences and exhibitions. They include the biggest gathering of representatives from packaging and printing industry brands; a high profile fashion show; and a real estate event organized by a forward-looking property firm.

There’s also a big trade show for food products, a major gathering of agribusinesses, and an event for the digital services sector.

  1. Africa Fashion Week Nigeria

Africa Fashion Week gives upcoming Nigerian fashion brands the platform they need to reach a wider market. It’s one of the more keenly anticipated fashion events in the country. But it does have a following beyond Nigeria, partly because it also targets diaspora designers, and organizes an equivalent of its Lagos event in London.

Attendees will get a glimpse of what Nigeria’s fashion scene currently looks like, and perhaps, a glance at its future trends as well.

Date: Saturday 15 – Sunday 16 September

  1. Real Estate Unite

This event, first held in 2012, is taking a prominent place on the calendars of a growing number of persons in the real estate industry. It is organized by 3INVEST, a real estate company with its eyes on the future of Africa’s rapidly developing property market.

This year, it’ll be adopting a “town hall” meeting format. Industry players in the private and public sector- including leading real estate companies, regulators and investors -are expected to be part of this; they will be driving robust discussions about the state of the sector, and prospects for its future.

We can expect a good deal of brand marketing and networking at the event as well.

  1. Propak West Africa

West Africa’s largest event for packaging, labelling and plastics will be taking place in Lagos this month. About 150 exhibitors from 30 countries are expected to showcase their packaging, printing and publishing services to a large number of potential buyers. If you’re looking to connect with a brand in any of these areas, you should consider attending the Propak event.

Venue: Landmark Centre, Lagos

This conference will have representatives from the wide spectrum of the agricultural value chain in attendance. This includes farm owners, suppliers, research experts, public sector agencies and government officials. They’ll be discussing the latest opportunities in agribusiness, the challenges of the sector, and the path to a sustainable future.

Nigeria Com is one of a rising number of ICT focused events in Nigeria- a sign of the industry’s rapid growth. Organizers of this event say they’ll be having over 600 technology and telecoms professionals in attendance. The audience will be listening to over 70 expert speakers in the course of sessions spanning two days. Besides these talks, there will be several exhibitors showcasing telecoms and digital technology products.

Date: Wednesday 19 – Thursday 20 September

Venue: Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

  1. Lagos International Food and Beverage Fair

The Lagos International Food and Beverage Fair is an opportunity for manufacturers and vendors to exhibit their food and agricultural products to the public. There will also be workshops for small-scale entrepreneurs which will get them in touch with regulators and will furnish them with the information they need to successfully run their businesses.

This mammoth fair could attract over 15,000 visitors and potential shoppers to its stands. But it does have a fitting venue for its size, one that adds a bit of a festive touch to it.

Date: Thursday 27 – Sunday 30 September
