From October 31 to November 4, 2016, the Business Delegation to China will take place at the China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex, No. 382, Yuejiang Zhong Road, Guangzhou 510335, China.  The delegation will participate in the Canton Fair – China Import and Export Fair.

Canton Fair

The Canton Fair is a trade fair held in the spring and autumn seasons each year.  It is co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and People’s Government of the Guangdong Province, and organised by the China Foreign Trade Centre.  The Canton Fair is the largest trade fair in China.  It has the largest assortment of products, the largest attendance, and the largest number of business deals made at a fair.

Fifty product trading categories, composed of thousands of China’s best foreign trade corporations, take part in the fair.  These include private enterprises, factories, scientific research institutions, wholly foreign-owned enterprises, and foreign trade companies.  The fair leads to export trade, though import business is also done there.  Apart from these, various types of business activities such as economic and technical cooperation and exchange, commodity inspection, insurance, transportation, advertising, and trade consultation are also commonly carried out at the fair.

Guangzhou

Guangzhou is the capital and largest city of Guangdong Province in southeastern China.  It is the third-largest Chinese city, after Beijing and Shanghai. For a long while, Guangzhou was the only Chinese port permitted for most foreign trade. The city fell to the British and was opened by the First Opium War.  It lost trade to other ports, such as Hong Kong and Shanghai, but continued to serve as a major entrepôt. In modern commerce, the city is best known for its annual Canton Fair. For three consecutive years 2013 – 2015, Forbes ranked Guangzhou as the best commercial city on the Chinese mainland.

Registration

Registration Fee for this event is ₦250,000 per participant. Participants are to pay for their flight tickets and accommodation. In addition, participants will pay ₦50,000 for the visa fee, travel insurance and documentation. This brings the payment to a total of ₦300,000 per participant.

Refunds

For any applicant that fails to obtain a travel visa for this tour, the registration fee of ₦250,000 will be refunded immediately. The expenses of ₦50,000 are non-refundable.

Visa Processing

Registered participants who require travel visas for this purpose shall be assisted.  Letters of Invitation shall be provided and the visas will be applied for at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Lagos. Visa applicants are required to provide:

  1. Passport and copies of previous visas
  2. Passport photographs
  3. Letter of introduction (from employer)
  4. Bank statements (for 6 months)
  5. Letter of employment and payslips (if employed)
  6. Incorporation documents (if self-employed)
