Nigeria’s luxury real estate niche is spread across its major urban centres. It consists of upscale neighbourhoods in such cities as Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. Companies that develop property in these areas do so for a market made up mostly of middle and upper-class individuals and families.

One such company is Primewaterview. It’s a real estate company that’s building homes in the high-brow districts of Lagos: Ikoyi, Victoria Island, and Lekki. For more than fifteen years, this company has served the upper end of the property market in the city and is now one of the leading brands in that domain. Primewaterview (PWV) was incorporated in 2005, and subsequently got involved in the development of the residential and commercial property. Its first residential project came in 2006 when it built 19 units of three-bedroom flats and semi-detached houses for staff of Exxon Mobil at Oniru, Victoria Island. Following this accomplishment, Primewaterview has brought several other projects on stream. These buildings now serve several clients, including commercial and private concerns. The company played a major role in the emergence of the Lekki district as a choice location for businesses and preferred residential area for Lagos’s upper middle class and wealthy dwellers. Two of the major projects completed by Primewaterview are the PWV Gardens I and II. This high-rise residential development is located in Lekki. The first, PWV Gardens I, was completed in 2009 and consists of 107 units of two-bedroom apartments. The second, PWV Gardens II, was finished in 2014 and has more than three hundred three-bedroom apartments, four-bedroom penthouses, and four-bedroom detached houses.

Another project, the Aidanville Courts, was also completed in 2009. It’s a gated community of eleven built units, consisting of six three-bedroom flats and five units of semi-detached duplexes. It has a dedicated power supply, parking areas, round-the-clock security, and other facilities. Wuraola Court, located in the Oniru area of Lagos, is one of Primewaterview’s luxury residences. It’s made up of eighteen units of three-bedroom flats, with stone-paved access roads, parking facilities, a water supply scheme, and own electricity, among other features. Finished in fifteen months, this project became available for rent soon after 2010. Primewaterview has also built residences in the leafy neighbourhood of Victoria Garden City (VGC). Other projects include Atlantic Mews, Ashake Court, Coral Views, Greenville, Praise Court, Pen jewel City, Godwin Omene, and Ajiran Mews, among others. Primewaterview has made big strides in less than two decades. And while its success may be closely tied to the general economic conditions of Nigeria, it could accomplish even more in the coming years and decades, if demand for property continues to rise.
