One of the better-known companies in this sphere is Mopson Pharmaceuticals. For over forty years, they have provided essential pharmaceutical products to a growing consumer base. They continue to expand their offerings to the market, in the hope that Nigeria can reduce its dependence on foreign drug imports. Mopson takes its name from the initials of its founder, Michael Oyebanjo Paul. He is an experienced pharmacist who’s been involved in the industry for several decades. He’s also a Fellow of the West African Post-Graduate College of Pharmacists. Mr Michael remains involved in the running of the company as its Managing Director. Mopson began operations in 1977. It has grown its products from the few it started with, to more than a dozen different drugs. They are all registered with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), and certified by the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON).
