Your list of Nigeria’s top architecture firms will be defective if it doesn’t have
AD Consulting. At least, it’ll be missing out on some sheer detail, style and finesse, and ignoring the commendations of some high profile clients in the private and public sectors.
There’s also something else to consider: the firm’s globally-admired, eloquent, and ever driven founder and CEO,
Olajumoke Adenowo.
AD Consulting stands out in an increasingly competitive
architecture industry, for the brilliance of their projects. The precision and the art in the buildings they plan and supervise is obvious even to the untrained eye. They’ve drawn up
office spaces designed to suit contemporary formal tastes; they also think up private residences that mimic the patterns in the aspects of nature that surrounds them.
Breaking Limits, Defying Norms
For an internationally celebrated brand boasting a portfolio of projects from across the country, AD Consulting had quite a small beginning. It was 26 year old Olajumoke Adenowo, running things from a room containing little other than a table and three chairs. But she had more. She had smarts, drive, and ideas that couldn’t fit into the straight jacket of her former employers.
Just over two decades later, she’s built a company big enough to design structures and interiors for Nigeria’s biggest banks, oil service companies, including the presidency.
It’s hard to miss the influence of Olajumoke Adenowo on the company she founded. AD Consulting seems to work with a
philosophy – something Adenowo is eager to express when she’s asked about AD Consulting.
“Architecture is about climate. It’s about a people’s aspirations, it’s about empire, it’s about national identity, it’s about daily life, it’s about everything.”
–Adenowo.
Building Everywhere, for Discerning Clients
Adenowo says that living and working spaces reflect “the spirit of the age” and is an integral part of the human experience. She’s striving to bring this to bear on the work done by AD Consulting. As a result, the firm tries to make it clear that it takes its client’s wishes seriously; it claims this much on its website, where it declares that it works “only with discerning clients”.
AD Consulting’s large portfolio of accomplishments include healthcare facilities, industrial buildings for pharmaceutical firms, banks, oil companies, as well as the interiors for private residences and cafeteria. It’s had done work with the public sector too, especially with federal ministries and the presidency. These projects are spread over a wide geographical expanse, encompassing
Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kaduna, and other parts of Nigeria.
