Blessing Okagbere Thirsts for Long Jump Medal in London

All eyes are on Blessing Okagbere, an Olympic and World Championship medalist in the long jump and a world medalist in 200 metres. The Delta born, Okagbere battles for one of the three medals offered at the 2017 World Athletics Championship in Long Jump events. Although she lost in the semifinals of women 100m and won silver at the Moscow 2013 championship, she takes to the long jump pit of London Stadium, in London, at the ongoing IAAF World Championship on Friday. A feat no longer strange to her, as she had previously won a bronze medal in the women long jump event at 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Although in 2016, RIO OLYMPICS, she made a disappointing feat as she did not finish with any medal to show. Today’s events would be the 28th-year-old third appearance in the final of the event at both the Olympics and the worlds. She is married to Igho Otegeri, a Nigerian footballer.
