  Applications are currently ongoing for the Women Techsters Fellowship Program. It’s a free one-year program that’s designed to train young girls and women in high-demand technology skills so that they can access opportunities in the tech space. If you’re a woman and would like to build a career or business in contemporary technology, here’s a chance to develop the capacity you’ll need for it.

Note that the Techsters program is competitive, and only admits the top 3% of applicants. It’s divided into two equal-length phases. The first, which lasts 6 months, consists of technical and soft skills training. The second, which also runs for 6 months, comprises practical work experience, including internships, volunteering opportunities, freelancing, and entrepreneurship.

Focus Areas

The Women Techsters Fellowship Program trains girls and women in the following areas: Cybersecurity, DevOps, Data Science and Engineering, Product Design, Product Management, Mobile Application Development, and Frontend and Backend Software Development.

This opportunity is open to persons who meet the following criteria:
  • Must be female, aged between 16 and 40 years
  • Demonstrate intellectual rigour, research skills, curiosity and openness
  • Should be a team player
  • Must be hardworking
