Applications are currently open for the Senator OBA Scholarship Scheme, a scholarship program targeted at young Nigerian students studying at public tertiary institutions in the country.
The scheme is organized by Senator Obong Bassey Albert (OBA), and is designed to support academic high achievers through their period of study in their university, polytechnic, college of education, nursing school, or other institutions of higher learning.
Since its inception in 2016, this program has covered tuition costs for more than 140 students in a wide range of disciplines, and in various institutions.
Benefit
Beneficiaries of the Senator OBA Scholarship will have their tuition costs covered, as this is a fully-funded scholarship.
Eligibility
Candidates must meet the following conditions to be considered for the scholarship:
- Should be enrolled at a public tertiary institution (university, polytechnic, college of education, school of nursing, etc.)
- Must be less than 25 years old by December 2022.
- Should not be in their final year.
- Must be an indigene of Akwa Ibom State.
- Persons who are recipients of any other scholarship are not expected to apply for this one.
The Application Process
Individuals who want to apply for this scholarship can do so online (check the link at the end of this article). They are expected to submit the following documents there as well:
- Admission letter.
- Passport photograph.
- Local Government of Origin.
They should provide a valid email address and phone number on which they can be reached on. Applicants should not fill out the application form more than once. If they do, they will be disqualified.
