The Indorama Corporation, a global manufacturing conglomerate with a presence in Nigeria, is accepting applications from young graduates who intend to enrol in its lab analyst internship program organized by the Indorama Eleme Fertilizer and Chemicals Limited (IEFCL), a subsidiary of the company.

The IEFCL Lab Analyst Program aims to recruit interns who have graduated from polytechnics and technical education institutes with a qualification in laboratory sciences or industrial chemistry. The program will enable them to gain work experience that will give them an edge in the labour market, or give them a chance to secure a job with Indorama where there are relevant vacancies.

Commissioned in 2016, the IEFCL is the world’s largest single-train Urea-Fertilizer plant. Its operations have become an integral part of Nigeria’s ecosystem for fertilizer manufacturing. Persons accepted into the lab analyst program at the company will get an insider’s view and experience of the professional environment in this key facility.

Applicants who are selected for this program will benefit from it in the following ways:

  • Gain practical experience on the job in a leading chemical products manufacturer.
  • Get paid a monthly stipend for as long as the internship lasts (12 months).
  • Get official transport for committing between their residence and work, and use the company’s canteen facility.
  • Will be certified upon completion of the program.
  • May be fully employed by the company at the end of the internship (this is subject to the existence of vacancies).

Eligibility

Persons who intend to apply for this job are expected to meet these conditions:

  • Have a National Diploma or its equivalent from a Federal polytechnic or technical education institute.
  • Studied Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or Industrial Chemistry.
  • Graduated between 2018 and 2020.

Eligible applicants will be taken through a two-stage selection process: a written test covering technical matters and candidate’s aptitude, and an in-person interview. Persons who scale through both these processes will be selected for the program.

Applications will remain open until 14 March 2022.
