Small and medium enterprises in the agricultural sector can apply for the Agri-SME Seed Lab Program. An initiative of the African Development Bank’s Agri-Food SME Catalytic Financing Mechanism’s (ACFM) Technical Assistance Window. This was delivered through Open Capital’s Agri-SME Support Program. The Agri-SME Seed Lab Program aims to equip SMEs in the agricultural sector with essential skills in business operations, strategic planning, financial management, and leadership to boost sustainable growth and high-level impact.

To be eligible for the Seed Lab program:
- Your SME must be based in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya or Uganda.
- Your business must be in the agricultural sector with a major focus on food value chains and aiding ecosystem players such as agricultural producers, agri-tech businesses, processors, input and equipment providers, marketplaces, and more.
- 2023 annual revenues: US $100,000-$500,000
- Number of full-time employees: 5-50

- Capital raise target: US $50,000-$750,000
- Gender and climate integration: Prioritization will be given to SMEs with integrated gender-inclusive and climate-resilient practices.
- More so, the program is a comprehensive and tailored curriculum curated for SMEs in the agricultural industry and follows their venture from the developing business model to the scaling level and improving external capital.
The deadline for applications is August 5, 2024.
