The Africa Fellowship Program has built a strong line of young African talents interested in career development in international institutions, academia, African governments, and think tanks. Selected fellows are given a six-month assignment in one of the World Bank Group offices in Washington DC or in-country offices to gain hands-on experience in the operations of the World Bank. The experiences include the design of global and country policies, knowledge generation and dissemination, and the construction of institutions to achieve inclusive growth in developing countries.
