  The global financial institution, the International Monetary Fund, has announced applications for the IMF internship program for approximately 50 students from various parts of the globe. Selected fellows in the IMF internship program will intern at the IMF headquarters in Washington, D.C. The paid internship runs between June and October.

To be eligible for the program

  • The applicant must have concentrated their studies on monetary and international economics, public finance, financial markets, economics, or a related discipline.
  • The applicant must possess strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • You must have an excellent command of written and oral English.

If an applicant is currently completing a doctorate

  • He/she must be registered as an active student and indicate interest in returning to school after the duration of the internship.
  • You must be not more than 32 years old at the start of the internship.

If the applicant is currently completing a master’s degree program

  • He/she must register as an active student during application.
  • You must not be more than 28 years old at the commencement of the internship.

If the applicant is applying for the Legal Department Internship

  • He or she must be within one to two years of completing an LLM, J.D., or equivalent advanced degree in law.
  • The applicant must not be more than the age of 32 at the commencement of the internship.
