  As part of efforts aimed at challenging climate problems such as flooding, drought, desertification, and disrupted rainfall patterns, Climate Smart Nigeria has formed a partnership with the Glow Initiative for Economic Empowerment, supported by Access Bank PLC, to launch the Access Bank Climate Leadership Fellowship 2024 (Cohort 6).

The Climate Leadership Fellowship aims to invest in a new generation of young energy leaders interested in driving energy transition and climate action in Nigeria. It aims to provide expert training for energy leaders passionate about making a huge difference in climate advocacy, climate leadership, finance, renewable energy applications, and diplomacy.

To be eligible for the program:

  • You must be between the ages of 22 and 40.
  • You must be able to demonstrate leadership in climate action and renewable energy.
  • University graduates are preferred for the program.
  • You must be part of an organization with a strong interest in climate leadership (corps members with an interest in renewable energy can also apply).

  • The applicant can be from any part of the world but must be a resident of Nigeria.
  • Selected applicants must be willing to teach climate change within their communities, participate in climate leadership expert training, submit a fellowship work plan, and attend every virtual meeting.
