The Hurford Youth Fellowship aims to build and enhance the leadership skills of youth leaders around the globe and harness their potential. Youth leaders selected for the program spend three months in Washington, DC, USA, to expand their global network, learn lessons from leading global activists, and contribute to the World Movement for Democracy. Fellows will organize online discussions aimed at generating active engagement among youth activists around the globe. They will also engage in conducting research, strategic meetings, organizing and leading presentations, and information-sharing sessions on relevant areas highlighted in the “What’s Next? Youth Declaration:”

Some of the benefits of the program include:
- Provision of monthly stipends that will cover living expenses, basic health insurance, and roundtrip travel to and from Washington, D.C.
- Participants are granted access to offices that are fully equipped with internet and email access, with a budget for long-distance phone calls that are related to the fellowship.

To be eligible for the program:
- It is open to people from every part of the world.
- You must not be older than 30 years old.
- Applicants must demonstrate a strong interest in democratic activism and advancement in their communities.
- Youth affiliated with civil society organizations are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in the English language.
