Agroye, an AgriTech startup, is organizing “My 500k Agribusiness Plan” competition for aspiring Nigerian entrepreneurs. As the competition’s name implies, Agroye is seeking to support new, small-scale agro-ventures with up to ₦500,000. It wants to inspire people who want to delve into agriculture to begin their journey into the space by drawing up decent business plans.

Following the deadline for the submission of the “My 500k Agribusiness Plan” entries, the top 5 applicants will be announced on Agroye’s social media handles and website. These finalists will then take part in an online pitch session slated for later in October. Winners will be selected by Agroye’s panel of judges, based on criteria such as business feasibility, resource management, community impact, use of technology, community impact, and the uniqueness of their solution.

The top 3 participants will receive the following prizes:
  • First Place: ₦500,000
  • Second Place: ₦300,000
  • Third Place: ₦200,000

Eligibility

This competition is open to persons who meet these criteria:
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 at the time they apply
  • Applicants’ business must be new or registered not more than 2 years prior to the start date of the competition (2ndof September 2024)
  • For registered businesses, annual revenue must not exceed ₦1 million
