Applications are open for the Federal Government Scholarship Award. Undergraduate and postgraduate students currently enrolled at Federal or State institutions of higher learning, who meet specific criteria determined by the Federal Scholarship Board, are invited to apply.

This scholarship program is open to students studying disciplines in these categories at universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education: Entrepreneurial Studies, Science and Technology, Education, Law, Medicine and Para-Medicals, Liberal Arts/Social and Management Sciences, and Environmental Sciences.

Benefit

Students who are selected for this program will have the cost of their tuition covered by the Federal Government.

Eligibility

Persons who want to apply for this scholarship should meet these conditions:

  • Postgraduate students should have a first degree from a Federal or State university (in at least the Second Class Upper Division), and be a full-time postgraduate students at a Federal or State university
  • Applicants pursuing university undergraduate degrees, Higher National Diploma (HND) or Nigeria Certificate in Education must be registered as full-time students at universities, polytechnics and colleges of education respectively, and be in their second year of study or above
  • University undergraduates should currently have a CGPA of at least 4.0 on a 5-point scale or 5.0 on a 7-point scale
  • HND and NCE students should have a CGPA of at least 3.5 on a 4-point scale

Note: Students who already enjoy a scholarship from another source are not allowed to apply.

Documents Required

Students will have to apply with these documents:

  • A letter of admission to their institution
  • Their current school Identity Card
