The African Development Bank (AfDB) 2023 Virtual Internship Program for Students

 

The African Development Bank (AfDB) invites students from across the continent to apply for its Virtual Internship Program. It is designed for young Africans and should help them gain professional and practical experience with the bank, and prepare them for a future career in a corporate setting.

The AfDB Virtual Internship Program is part of the institution’s Talent Management Framework, which will enable it to meet its long-term goals encapsulated in its ‘High 5s’ (energy, agro-business, industrialization, integration, and improving the quality of life of Africans). Candidates selected from the pool of applicants will be assigned to various departments at the bank’s headquarters in Abidjan. However, they will work remotely.

Eligibility

Applicants should meet these criteria:

  • Must have reached the age of maturity in their country and be not older than 30 years when the internship begins
  • Must be enrolled in a Master’s degree program at a recognized university; they should provide a letter from their institution confirming that they are studying one of the degrees mentioned below:
  • Should be studying a discipline that is related to the bank’s work: Economics, Education, Health, Agriculture, Finance, Human Resource Development, Environment, Infrastructure Development, Communications, Information Technology, Law, Budget, Internal Audit, and Governance
  • Must be fluent in English or French
  • Should be able to use Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access, as well as SAP

Note: Internships will last for at least 3 months and not more than 6 months
