People with positive attitudes remain hopeful and see the best even in difficult situations. In contrast, those with negative attitudes may be more pessimistic and disagreeable, and typically expect the worst outcome in tough situations. In this article, we are going to six creative ways to keep a positive attitude no matter what.
  1. Become Grateful

Being grateful for a list of things ranging from family to good health, to past successful projects to living in a peaceful community to getting a dream job etc, is a way to remain positive.
  1. Treat Yourself To Great Treats

Most often, our bodies and minds can be overwhelmed by office works, school works or even home works. Finding a good time to treat ourselves to a special treat such as going for a massage in a spa, having a warm bath, visiting the cinemas, having a good long rest, staying indoors reading your favourite novels, or doing things that are mentally stimulating like baking and painting other than tasking etc. can be a good way to remain positive. Understand that apart from the pressures of life, there are also pleasures of life. Taking time to unwind is good for your physical and mental health.
  1. Start Strong Every Morning

When you wake up in the morning with resentment, bitterness, anger, worry, fear, anxiety, irritated etc, you’re bound to have a bad day. But waking up in high spirits can get you motivated all day. In other to wake up in high spirits it’s paramount that you have a good night rest. Exercising the evening before, putting off any task an hour before going to bed, or having a warm bath before going to bed can guarantee a good night sleep. Waking up to do what you love like listening to your favourite music, reading a favourite part of the Scriptures or a book can get you kick-started.

  1. Avoid Negative News And Conversations

Either by listening to the news on the TV, radio or social media, avoiding bad news can really sustain your positive spirit. This also means avoiding gossips from relations, coworkers, classmates and so on, whose stock-in-trade is to spread rumours about people. The consequence of gossip is that it can lead to toxicity in the family, classroom, and workplace. Also, beware of people who spread fear and hopelessness around. Avoid people whose conversations are all about the worst state of the economy, gun shootings, news of deaths and destruction. Some conversations can infuse in you hopelessness which can kill your creativity.
  1. See Life In Phases

The truth about people who remain positive is that they see life in phases. They’re not in a hurry to execute when they ought to be learning. They’re not worried to get a breakthrough when they’re in their planting stage. The reason why most people bask in negativity is that they feel less than themselves when they don’t experience quick successes. One of the ways to remain positive is to understand your season as a person. Misunderstanding of seasons is why people aren’t having a positive attitude.
  1. Avoid Unhealthy Competition

The reason why many people don’t have a positive attitude is that they engage in unhealthy rivalry with their friends, siblings, cousins, neighbours and coworkers. They’re engrossed with competing and they’re forced to live lives for the sake of impressing people. Engaging in unhealthy rivalry can be mentally exerting, especially when you feel threatened by a competitor’s progress.
