If you find yourself constantly at your desk for the most part of the day, then you ought to develop the right sitting posture. It is more important to sit correctly than conveniently, and though it might take a while to adjust to it, sitting rightly goes a long way in shaping your body and health as a whole. These simple tips will help.

Support Your Back When You Sit

We expose our spine to damage when we slouch while sitting. Try as much as possible to support the back of your chair with a small pillow or suitable substitute. Make sure it is enough to make you sit upright and keep you from putting all your weight on the chair.

Adjust Your Chair

To achieve a good sitting posture, make sure your seat is adjusted so that your feet are on the ground and your knees are at the exact plane with your hips. If your feet aren’t resting on the floor, which is also important—you can use a stool to fit your feet in the right position.

Put Your Feet on the Floor

This helps to distribute the body weight in a way that no part of the body suffers when you sit. To achieve this, make sure your knees are bent and are at a right angle with your hips or slightly below them. Then put your feet flat on the floor; you can use a footrest to in order to help, the important thing is that your feet must be on the floor. And if you’re restricted by high-heel shoes, it might be best to make do without them during that period.

Avoid Crossing Your Legs

As chic and bossy as this looks, you should refrain as much as possible from crossing your legs. By crossing them often, you pave the way to muscle strain and this can also reduce the blood flow in the body. So, wherever you find yourself seated, resist the urge to cross your legs. You would be saving your body in a lot of ways.
