In April 2018, Nigeria will become the first Africa country to ever participate in the World Curling Federation Championships, scheduled to take place in Stavanger, Norway.

The 7-day World Mixed Doubles championships, will see 48 teams from across the globe including Team Nigeria, led by T.J Cole, battle for a podium finish, to increase their chances of qualification for the 2022 Winter Olympics.

His partner for the games is Susana Cole, a strategic and excellent shooter.

All 48 teams have been grouped into six sets of eight teams. Team Nigeria is in Group C, alongside Australia, China, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Italy, and Wales.

Team Nigeria is currently training at the Denver Curling Club, United States, for the monumental event alongside their coaches.

The President of the Nigeria Curling Federation, Mr. Daniel Damola, who visited the team’s training camp, has called on all Nigerians to pray for, and support the team as they prepare to make history for the country.

Team Nigeria is excited, passionate, and in high spirits. They are asking the country to pray for them. Making the Olympics in 2022, will call for the entire nation to support our Curling team. Sponsors are needed for this historic event.

The Championships will be broadcast all over the world, so this is an excellent opportunity for Sponsors to get their brands recognized for a good cause, not to mention showing pride and patriotism for Nigeria’s team.
