  The Baobab Network, one of Africa’s best-known accelerators, is calling on startups to apply for a place in its accelerator program. It is particularly interested in hearing from tech ventures that are doing groundbreaking work in traditional and emerging industries, especially by applying contemporary technologies.

The Baobab Network says it’s keen on identifying the best entrepreneurs in Africa. It aims to enable them take their products or services to the markets that need them. By doing so, it would help solve pressing problems while also midwifing the birth of Africa’s future big hitters on the tech scene.

Startups selected to join the accelerator will get these benefits:
  • $100,000 in funding to drive their growth
  • Receive hands-on venture support
  • Lifetime access to the organization’s networks

Eligibility

This program is open to startups operating in the following spaces:
  • Data and analytics infrastructure in healthcare
  • CleanTech or Sustainability Infrastructure
  • Mobile payments and remittance solutions
  • Financial technology infrastructure solutions
  • Precision agriculture technologies that enable smallholder farmers increase their yields
  • Cross border payments and float management solutions
  • AI and ML technology
