Lagos International Trade Fair

The 2013 edition of the Lagos International Trade Fair expects to have 1000 exhibitors, according to organisers of the event, billed to hold from November 1st – 10th at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos. The organisers say they have already received bookings from 200 indigenous firms for a combined space of 20,000 square metres. The annual fair, deemed as the Premier International Trade Fair in Nigeria, is holding for the 27th time. The fair is organised by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry and supported by the Federal Government and the Lagos State Government. The theme of the event this year is “Harnessing Trade Potentials for an Inclusive Economy”. Chairman of the Trade Promotion Board of LCCI Babatunde Ruwase said, “We are confident that by the second week of October, over 800 local companies would have registered to participate in the fair.” “A country that is prosperous must reflect that prosperity in its citizenry and for this not to be the case, there must be something that we are not doing right and in our own little effort, we are trying to make people see that there are ways that this malaise can be remedied.” “With the choice of the theme, we are also sensitising the policy makers to the importance of domestic production and citizen participation. The fair will focus on the promotion and development of indigenous and international trade to increase the volume of trade and boost activities of industrialisation.” Products Categories include: Agriculture & Agro Allied Products, Building & Construction, Plants & Equipment, Oil & Gas, Mining & Energy, Automobile & Allied Products, ICT & Telecommunications, Electrical & Electronics, Banking, Finance & Insurance, Household & Domestic Products, Furniture & Fittings, Publication & Stationeries, Pharmaceutical & Healthcare, Cosmetics & Beauty Products, Fashion & Textile, Solar, Hydro & Renewable Energy & Clothing Apparel and Food & Beverages.
