First City Monument Bank (FCMB), through SheVentures, its program targeted at women in business, is organizing a competition for women who are building solutions in the tech sphere. The event themed SheVentures Tech Pitch, is designed to reward women in tech who are creating products that solve some of the pressing problems across various business sectors.
The SheVentures Tech Pitch will recognize women who are delivering digital solutions; these solutions may be anywhere between the idea and Minimum Viable Product (MVP) stages and situated in the healthcare, education, agriculture, food security, finance, and related spaces.
The SheVentures Tech Pitch is supported by Hub One, FCMB’s innovation hub (managed by Leadspace), and Passion Incubator, an incubator and accelerator based in Lagos that designs innovation programs and also specializes in tech investments.
Benefits
Winning participants of the SheVentures Tech Pitch will benefit from it in the following ways:
- The winner will receive a call prize of ₦1 million.
- The first and second runners up will get ₦650,000 and ₦350,000 respectively.
- Get access to FCMB’s Women in Business zero-interest loan (with an upper limit of ₦5 million).
- Get access to SheVentures women in business network and resources.
Eligibility
Prospective entrants are expected to meet these conditions:- Be a Nigerian woman in tech who is building digital solutions.
- Their solution should tackle challenges in healthcare, education, agriculture, food security, finance, etc.
- The solution should be anywhere between the idea and MVP stage.
Applications remain open until 17 March 2022.
Following the end of applications, a selection process will commence. The competition will culminate in a demo day, in which six finalists will pitch their solutions to a panel of judges. Winners will be chosen based on the quality of their solutions.
