YouTube, a video sharing website and one of the most popular around the world, with several channels, is paying Media houses and artists – in Europe – for contents to put on their YouTube Channels. YouTube Channels are platforms on YouTube where new and recent contents are uploaded, and if it has millions of views, there will be ads on the channel.
60 original “channels” for sports, health, and comedy, will be created, adding to 100 U.S.-focused channels that exist already. YouTube revenue for 2012 is estimated to be around $ 3.5billion, with most coming from advertising. YouTube pays about 55% of this amount to content providers.
