Super-Eagles

Nigeria was grouped with familiar foes, Argentina in Group F for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. This is the fourth time in World Cup history Nigeria has been paired with the South American giants. The record is in favour of Argentines who boast a 3-0-0 record against the Super Eagles. Both teams met for the first time at USA ’94, with the Argentines running out with a 2-1 win. Samson Siasia scored Super Eagles’ lone goal in the match. Both teams also met at the group stage in Korea/Japan 2002 and South Africa 2010 World Cup, with Argentines winning both games 1-0. Other teams in the group are Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovinia.
