This program seeks outstanding university students who have shown a genuine interest in financial careers to contribute to the World Bank’s developmental mission. Upon completion of their degree, participants have the opportunity to transition into Junior Analyst positions – two-year roles within Treasury teams.

The program welcomes students in their penultimate or final year of undergraduate studies (or equivalent four-year degree programs). Throughout its history, the initiative has welcomed more than 70 participants representing over 30 countries with balanced gender representation from students studying both within and outside the United States across all global regions.

Participants benefit from working alongside Treasury colleagues representing over 60 nationalities in an exceptionally diverse professional environment, receiving personalised mentorship from experienced professionals.

Program Structure

The ten-week full-time internship runs from May 26 to August 3, 2026, based in Washington, DC. The experience begins with a tailored orientation week, followed by three distinct three-week rotations across different Treasury departments. Weekly mentoring sessions with the program director complement technical and professional development workshops led by Treasury officers, managers, and senior leadership.

Participants gain exposure to Treasury’s nearly 300-person team, including meetings with the Vice President & Treasurer.

Each rotation ends with team presentations, while the program concludes with a capstone project presented to Treasury’s management team.
