Two A-List Nigerian Artists were endowed with awards on Wednesday night at the 22nd edition of MOBO awards held at the First Direct Arena, Leeds in the United Kingdom.
Our favourite Nigerian artistes and others were seen winning big. DMW boss, Davido, who performed at the awards, emerged as the winner of Best African Act Award while beating fellow nominees like Maleek Berry, Mr Eazi, Sarkodie and many more.
The icing for the event was Wizkid taking home the prize for the Best International Act, beating heavyweights like Drake, Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar among many others.
The Mobo Award show, which stands for Music of Black Origin, is held annually in the United Kingdom to recognize artists of any ethnicity or nationality performing black music.
Meanwhile, notable Nigerians have joined in celebrating the feat, such as Former President Goodluck Jonathan, Ben Murray Bruce.
Dear @wizkidayo, I‘ve been in the entertainment business as an investor since 1980 and one of my proudest moments for Nigerian music is the day you defeated both Jayz and @Drake, two of the biggest stars in the world, to win the Best international Act at the #MOBOAwards well done
