Those were words of multi-talented Nollywood Actor and Director, Desmond Elliot to Yomi Casual over the weekend, when he visited Yomi Casual’s Luxury Showroom on 8, Bode Thomas, Street, Surulere Lagos.
Desmond Elliot was at the top-notch Showroom to see Yomi Casual’s 2013 Collections and make newer customized orders for himself when his eyes caught, with admiration, the display of 2012 Award Plaques on Yomi Casual’s Success Shelf.
The first Plaque that met Desmond’s eyes and the most recent of them all is the Plaque shaped in form of a fist and presented two days before Christmas. The inscription on it reads: Youth Designer Label, Dynamix All-Youth Award, 2012.Yomi Casual and his Awards
He also saw The Exclusive Impact Awards, which honoured Yomi Casual as the Fashion Designer of the Year in October 2012, and Effizze Style & Effects Awards which named Yomi Casual the Designer of the Year in the same month.
The Most Outstanding Personality in Fashion – presented, November 2012, by the Nigerian Youth Merit Award (Yomi Casual won the same category in 2011) – was the other award he saw.
Aside the Awards, Yomi Casual spared time to show Desmond Elliot a Portfolio of some Celebrity Clients adorning his Casuals. In the portfolio, Desmond saw himself, Alibaba, AY, Nonso Diobi, Susan Peters, Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki),and Timaya.

“Now, I have more expectations from you,” Desmond (himself a multi-award winner) told Yomi Casual, after seeing his awards and his star-studded Portfolio. “I hope that 2013 comes with more achievements and honors for you. Keep up the good work!”

In response, gratified Yomi Casual went amazingly philosophical.
“You are recognized and celebrated home and abroad as a successful actor, respected Director, and an innovative thinker. But to me you’ve been a source of inner strength. And I got all these Awards because when I was looking for God, I found him in you and all the Celebrities that have given me the privilege of Clothing them over the years. Thank you very much, Desmond, you are a gift.”
