Super Falcons goalkeeper, Tochukwu Oluehi, has issued an all-out warning to South Africa before they meet Nigeria in the final of the ongoing 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations in Accra Ghana on Saturday, December 1, 2018.
Oluehi, who has only conceded once throughout the tournament against South Africa, is assured that the Super Falcons will will teach the Bayana Bayana how to respect their elders when they meet on Saturday.
South Africa defeated Nigeria 1-0 in the opening match of Group B, and finished on top of the group with seven points after defeating Equatorial Guinea 7-1 and playing a 1-1 draw against Zambia.
Having made it to the finals, this is the first time South Africa will qualify for the Women’s World Cup, compared to the Super Falcons who have qualified for every edition of the competition since its inception.
The Bayana Bayana would be looking to cap their France 2019 qualification with the 2018 AWCON crown, needless to say, they may have probably forgotten just how ruthless the Super Falcons can be — especially with an already bruised ego.
Oluehi’s words are a reminder to the South African team that the Falcons have not forgotten their only defeat so far in the tournament.
“Meeting South Africa in the finals is what we have been praying for because we want to play them again.
“We want to tell them that winning us in the group stage was a mistake and it’s not going to happen again. I am sure we will beat them in the final.”
— Oluehi
