Emenike, 32, played a key role in winning Nigeria’s third AFCON title under the guidance of late Stephen Keshi. The former Fenerbahce of Turkey star netted four goals, including a thunderbolt 30-yard free kick strike against Ivory Coast in the quarter final to emerge the tournament’s highest goal scorer despite missing out of the final against Burkina Faso due to an injury.

Emenike who called time on his international career in 2015 relishes AFCON 2013 as one of his memorable moments in life.

Being the top scorer is good and great, which wasn’t what I had in mind before the competition. What we had in our head was to win the trophy, but winning the top scorer award and the trophy made me happy and they are part of the best moments of my life
