
Photography enthusiast will not forget The Business of Photography 2019 in a hurry, as it brought together the best brains in Nigeria under one roof to educate photographers and intending photographers about different aspects of the photography business. The event took place on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos.

The event began with an opening speech from the conveyer of the event, Kola Oshalusi and was hosted by Lamide Akintobi and Kabutey Ocansey.
The first-panel session had Jite Ovuraye,(Associate Producer, Accelerate TV) as the moderator and the panellists included Reze Bonna, (international fashion photographer) and Bayo Omoboriowo (personal photographer of the President of Nigeria).
They engaged in a discussion that highlighted the impact of positive storytelling on a brand or project.

The second panel session was moderated by Tewa Onasanya ( founder of Exquisite magazine), while TY Bello (creative director of TY Bello photographer), Ijeoma Balogun, (founder of Redrick PR), Chris Omojiade ( life coach), Ayona Aguele Trimnell (CEO, Bantu Photos represented by Mr Chima) and Colette Otusheso (Head Accelerate TV) were panellists.
They discussed branding, the role of PR/marketing strategy in the photography industry.

The third panel session was moderated by Lehle Balde (Senior Associate, Business Day), with Charles Anyawu (Head SME Enterprise at LSETF, representing Akintunde Oyebode the CEO of LSETF), Engr. Chris Ifeanyi Oputa (CEO Studio 24), Uzoma Dozie (GMD/CEO Diamond Bank) on the panel and they discussed The financing of the photography industry as well as the role of the government.

The fourth panel session had Toyosi Etim- Effiong (TV Producer Arise TV) as the moderator and the panellist included Georgette Monnou (Media and Entertainment Lawyer), Kelechi Amadi Obi (Lawyer/international Photographer) and Lucky Idike (CEO LOI Partners), Dr. Jumoke Oduwole ( SSA to the V. President Industry, Trade and Investment), George Okoro ( Renowned Wedding Photographer/Publisher) they discussed intellectual property and legislature in shaping the visual narrative.

The final panel session was moderated by Edwin Okolo, (Head of content, Red Africa) and the panelists were documentary photographers; Adekanye Olusegun, Tolani Alli, Bernard Kalu, Tobi Balogun (commercial photographer) and Obi Somto. These set of panellists thoroughly discussed Redefining the photography Industry.

Asides the panel sessions, there were master classes on various aspects of photography such as Architecture (Kelechi Amadi Obi) Products (Debayo Rotilu), (Jide Odukoya) and Youtube (Keli Abel). Fade Ogunro (On Air Personality) also did a presentation on her brand.
The event ended with networking as well as a private and public photography viewing session curated by The White Space.
