Aloe Vera

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is known for its numerous health benefits. When it comes to scalp health, coconut oil improves skin hydration and prevents dryness, which contributes to dandruff. Coconut oil can be used in place of the regular conditioner. According to one study, coconut oil reduced symptoms of dermatitis by 68%, compared to just 38% in mineral oil. Apply the oil directly on your scalp and rinse it off after a few minutes. Do this once a week until you see results.

Baking Soda 

Regular kitchen baking soda is an effective remedy for treating dandruff. It is a natural exfoliant and has antifungal properties that can help in the treatment of dandruff.

It promotes healthy skin by removing dead skin cells and reducing excess oil, scaliness, and itchiness. Apply one tablespoon of baking soda on your wet hair and massage it into your scalp. Leave it for about 1 to 2 minutes then shampoo and condition your hair. Do this twice a week for better results.

Omega-3s 

Omega 3 fatty acids play a vital role in promoting good health by strengthening the immune system, lungs, and heart. They also support skin health by regulating oil regulation and hydration. When the body is lacking in these acids, it can lead to symptoms such as dry hair, dry skin, and dandruff. You can increase your intake of Omega 3s by eating fatty fish like salmon, cod liver oil, walnut, soya beans, and more.

Reduce Stress 

While stress itself does not cause dandruff, it can weaken the immune system, reducing the body’s ability to fight fungal and bacterial infections, which contribute to dandruff. You can reduce stress in several ways like meditation, yoga, deep breathing, relaxing music, and spending quality time with friends and family.
