  The Nigerian national basketball team, D’Tigers, wrapped up their 2021 Afrobasket qualifiers in Tunisia in an unbeatable manner after recording a 76-56 points win against Mali in their last group game on Friday, February 19, 2021. The West African side beat South Sudan in their first game (75-70pts) and did the same against Rwanda (64-51) before wrapping up with Mali.

Coach Randy Waldrum’s Super Falcons continued their brilliant run in the Turkish Women’s Cup after beating Uzbekistan 1-0 on Sunday, February 21, 2021. It will be recalled that the Nigerian women beat CSKA Moscow 1-0 in their first game of the competition, and will be looking forward to a good outing against Equatorial Guinea on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. On the continental front, Enyimba FC of Aba triumphed over fellow Nigeria Professional Football League side, Rivers United, in the CAF Confederation Cup via a penalty shootout (5-4) to advance into the group stage of the competition on Sunday, February 21. With this, Enyimba is now Nigeria’s sole representative in a continental club level competition for this season 2020/2021. In the NPFL, Enugu Rangers moved into the top four on Sunday, February 21, after a hard-fought 1-0 home win against Kwara United at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu. A half-hour mark strike from Chiamaka Madu was all the Enugu-based side needed to claim all three points.

The biggest win for the weekend was recorded in Umuahia as Abia Warriors thrashed Warri Wolves 4-1. A brace from Godwin Obaje, a solo effort from Chukwuemeka Obioma and Paul Samson, cancelled out Sunday Williams’ third-minute strike for the visitors.
