During a visit to the team’s training ground in Abuja, Mr Dare urged the players to make Nigeria proud by emerging champions.

Your coaches have impacted much on you, go there and come back victorious.’ Mr. Sunday DareIn a similar vein, the General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, Dr Mohammed Sanusi during a visit to the team’s training ground on Monday, November 30th, 2020, congratulated players selected for the tournament and urged them to use the platform to prove their worth in Benin Republic. Dr Sanusi also assured the players and entire technical crew of settled welfare packages as they look to make the nation proud.

‘I must, first of all, congratulate you for being selected among all the players that came to try out for selection to represent Nigerian in the WAFU competition. You must use this as a springboard to show your coaches and Nigerians that it was not a mistake that you were picked to represent the country… You are not just representing yourselves and your families, but Nigerians who will look up to you to do the nation proud… The NFF is also working towards making sure all your entitlements due to you are settled. You must be focused on the task at hand while you can rest assured of our total support.’ Dr Mohammed SanusiSet to depart the nation on Friday, November 5th, the Flying Eagles will play their first game against Cote d’ Ivoire on Sunday, December 6th.
