Super Falcons coach, Thomas Dennerby, has drawn up a list of 20 players to represent Nigeria at the forthcoming WAFU Women’s Cup Tournament in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
The tournament is expected to kick off on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, and run through Saturday, May 18, 2019.
Nigeria finished third at the last edition of the tournament in 2018, and have now been grouped alongside Burkina Faso, Niger Republic and Mali, in Group B of the tournament.
Host country, Cote d’ Ivoire, will take on Senegal, Togo and Ghana in Group A.
The Super Falcons delegation which includes former team captain Evelyn Nwabuoku and midfielder Amarachi Okoronkwo, will jet out of Nigeria on Tuesday aboard an Air Ivoire flight.
Nigeria will face the Burkina Faso senior ladies in their first game of the tournament on Thursday, 9th May, after which they will face Niger Republic on Saturday, 11th May. The Falcons will play their final group game against Mali on Tuesday, 14th May.
Meanwhile, the semifinal will begin immediately after the group games are over.
