If there is any recently released movie that aims to capture the ills in our present society, it’s Nimbe – a film released on 29 March 2019, produced by Folarin Laosun, and directed by Tope Aleke. Nimbe tells the story of a young boy caught in the dilemma of a broken family and all the adversities that come with it. This leads him down a dark path and significantly changes the trajectory of his life.
The movie features two comic Yoruba acts namely Toyin Aimakhu and Odunade Adekola. It also contains spectacular scenes by the fast-rising actor Chimezie Imo (who plays the lead role) and features other stars like Kelechi Udegbe, Rachael Okonkwo, ace comedian Broda Shaggi and many others.
Nimbe has won the hearts of many including Adenike Adebayo, a movie critique who has only good things to say about it. Watch Adenike’s interesting review of the movie below and you may just be prompted to see the movie on your next trip to the cinema.
