Victor Okoh Boniface, in what was his second Bundesliga game since his return from injury, scored a penalty in the 25th minute to give Leverkusen the lead. In the 60th minute, Victor assisted Granit Xhaka to extend the lead to two goals to nil. Bayer eventually went on to score five goals through a Florian Wirtz hattrick in the 68th, 83rd, and 90th minutes.

Victor Okoh Boniface has been instrumental for Bayer Leverkusen, even though his progress and tally were impeded by injury, scoring 11 goals and amassing 9 assists so far. Boniface and Bayer Leverkusen will now switch their attention to the Europa League, where they have a first-leg 2-nil advantage against West Ham, while also looking to see out the league with the unbeaten run still intact.
