The Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo on Wednesday, 6th September, paid a sympathetic visit to people affected by flooding in Benue State.
This is due to the Floods that sacked 110,000 people out of their homes, even while many have criticized the Federal Government for being silent.
He, on behalf of the President, assured the flood victims that the Federal Government would support them. He expressed his hope that the funds that are meant to address specific challenges should be carefully managed.
He was received by the State Governor, Samuel Otom, in Makurdi, the state capital and he sympathized with the flood victims who are currently taking refuge at the Makurdi International Market which was arranged by the Benue State Emergency Management Agency.
He added that the Federal government would support the state in providing more relief materials to the internally displaced persons.
