After keeping two clean sheets for Elche this season, Super Eagles first choice, goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, conceded five goals in his third Spanish Segunda game, against Cardiz on Sunday. As distressing as this sounds, however, it is not the worst news from the game. The Super Eagles goalkeeper, suffered a concussion, and will be out of Nigeria’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa, on the 17th of November 2018. Uzoho was one of the three goalkeepers invited by Coach Gernot Rohr to the Super Eagles top-tier decisive game against South Africa at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. The Deportivo La Coruna loanee took to his twitter handle @Uzohof to reveal that he would sadly be out of action for the Super Eagles for the next four weeks.
“Injury is part of the game, definitely not the best timing but there are things beyond us. So sad I won’t be there for my teammates for the next four weeks ?they’re more than capable to get the job done. Coming back a beast. IN CHRIST ALONE.” ―Uzoho
