Super Eagles forward John Utaka has signed with Turkish outfit, Sivasspor on a free transfer after his contract with French side, Montpellier expired at the end of last season.
Utaka, who recently got married in France, has joined the Turkish club on a two-year deal after undergoing medicals.
Utaka scored the goals that gave Montpellier the French Ligue 1 title on the final day of the season in 2012, at the expense of big-money spenders, Paris Saint German, and has been capped 43 times by Nigeria but hasn’t featured under Stephen Keshi.
The 31-year old replaces another Nigerian, Michael Eneramo at the club. Eneramo, who scored 36 goals in two-and-a-half years for the club, has signed for Besiktas.
Utaka has featured for Ismaily, Arab Contractors, Al-Sadd, Lens, Portsmouth, Rennes and Montpellier in his career.
