Ibrahim Mu’azu, CBN’s Director, Corporate Communications released a statement on Monday saying that the choice of the 100 Naira denomination was part of CBN’s contribution to the centenary celebration.
The unveiling ceremony will start off with a brief presentation by the CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, giving detailed information on the aesthetic and security features of the note. President Goodluck Jonathan will be present to do the unveiling.
According to the statement, the commemorative banknote will have the inscription of the theme of the centenary celebration “One Nigeria, Great Promise” as a micro-text.
The commemorative note is to mark the centenary celebration and would circulate alongside the existing 100 Naira note.
