The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), will on Friday, February 19, 2016, hold her 45th convocation ceremony. The number of students set to graduate this year is 13,554 of which 85 made First Class Honors, 3,040 made Second-Class upper-division and 7,286 have honors in the Second-Class Lower division.
The title of the convocation lecture is “The Petroleum Industry and the Future of the Nigerian Nation” and will be delivered by the Minister of state for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu.
Also, there will be a debate on the topic: University Education should be Skill-Based rather than Cognitive Driven”.
In appraisal for their dedicated service to the country, honorary doctorate degrees will be conferred on the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemaka Achebe and former Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Commassie. Hon. Justice Eze Ozobu would receive a Doctor of Philosophy in Law and Ambassador Godwin Alaoma Onyegbula and Prince Arthur Eze will be conferred with the Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration.
