The popularity of videos on social media is becoming very high; people prefer to view videos rather than read posts. Leveraging on this, Twitter just announced an increase to its video time from 30 to 140 seconds. Though some select publishers will be able to post videos that are up to 10 minutes long using specified tool Twitter will offer them.
Also, when viewing a video on Twitter, there is now a full-screen interface which will show you other suggested videos. Twitter also introduced Twitter Engage which will give influencers, creators and public figures real-time data and insights allowing them to quickly understand, engage and grow their audiences.
Twitter is exploring monetization opportunities for creators. Speaking on this Jack Dorsey co-founder and CEO of Twitter said: “We’re investing heavily in videos and creators, we want to be the best place for creators and influencers to build an audience and make it easier for creators to make money on Twitter, and soon Vine”.
