The Muslim holy month of Ramadan starts on Saturday. Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar when more than 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide are required to abstain from food and purge themselves from all types of immorality.
According to Twitter, people sent more than 74.2 million tweets about Ramadan worldwide last year. With that in mind, Twitter is offering Muslims a Ramadan Twitter experience with the creation of a custom hashtag #Eid and #Ramadan as well as showing special icons reminding followers of the special month.
Twitter has also created a reminder that will inform followers at the exact time to break and resume fasting.
Muslims can tweet @AlArabiya followed by their location and a breakfast reminder will be sent. Using the hashtags, Muslims can tweet about their Ramadan celebrations and connect to other Muslims worldwide.
Twitter wants to share these special moments with everyone.
