From the lips of Nigerian citizens on the street to the finely tuned football pitches in England, the 2012/2013 English Premier league will hold center stage as it commenced on Saturday, 18th of August, 2012.
On like other seasons, no renowned Nigerian player signed to any premier league club right now but here are Nigerian Players who we expect to light up the league this season.
Victor Moses
Top on the Log is no other person than Victor Moses, who before now has had a very exciting season which has consequently attracted European champions, Chelsea FC. Moses might end up playing for Chelsea FC or stay with Wigan.
Victor, who has been scouted by the National Team coach, finally debuted for Nigeria and has so far been a regular for the Keshi tutored Team. One thing is certain, whatever club he eventually settles for, he is bound set the English Pitches on fire with his amazing runs and tricks down the wings.
John Mikel Obi
Fresh From an incredible season where he claimed the FA cup and Champions league, John Mikel Obi seems to have stamped his authority as the Holding Midfielder for Chelsea FC. After a shaky start for the previous season, Mikel has since claimed that position even after the arrival of more exciting Midfielders like Eden Hazard, Marco Marin and Oscar from Brazil.
Unlike Moses, who is being sort after now, Mikel has to up his game for this new season to be able to compete with the likes of Michael Essien, Frank Lampard, Ramirez and Oriol Romelu who will be fighting for that same position.
Victor Anichebe
Everton’s young striker looks set to claim the top striker spot in his club this new season. Anichebe has been in and out of the Super Eagles for a while now. Bearing that in mind, Victor Anichebe will be on the move to re-establish himself as the Top striker on the Everton lineup and eventually get a call-up to the super Eagles again.
