The Swedish Institute is inviting women from Africa and Asia to participate in its Pioneering Women in STEM Scholarship initiatives to address global challenges and create sustainable solutions.

The Swedish Institute Pioneering Women in STEM Scholarship 2025 is a fully funded academic scholarship for women who are interested in solving global problems to pursue full-time one- or two-year master’s degree studies in Sweden in designated programs.

Some of the benefits of the program include

  • It covers full tuition.
  • Selected fellows gain a monthly stipend of SEK 12, 000.
  • Fellows get a travel grant of SEK 15,000.
  • Fellows become members of the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP).
  • After the scholarship has ended, fellows become members of the SI Alumni Network.

To be eligible for the program

  • The applicant must be a citizen of one of the following countries: Nigeria, Rwanda, Kenya, Malaysia, Bangladesh, South Africa, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand.
  • The applicant must follow the steps of university admissions and must be admitted into one of the eligible master’s degree programs.

  • The scholarship is only available for a designated master’s degree program in STEM with a strong focus on one or more core areas.
